This Audi Q3 wouldn’t start, with no obvious cause.

After carrying out an in-depth diagnostic assessment, I identified a camshaft/crankshaft correlation fault, indicating a possible engine timing issue.
Further investigation confirmed the engine timing was out. On stripping the engine down, I found the front crankshaft seal housing had cracked, allowing engine oil to contaminate the timing belt. This had caused the belt to lose its correct timing, preventing the engine from starting.
